20 Before 20

I'm sure many of you have read Mackenzie's 101 in 1001 list on her blog. I love the idea, but I know myself pretty well and I am not that motivated. I tried thinking of 101 things to do, really only came up with about 56 things to try. So I was doing my daily reading of blogs and I came across Samantha's list. She has already done a 101 in 1001 days... big props to her for that!! But she decided to make a list called 20 before 20! I thought this would be a great way for me to start since I will be 19 in July that will give me a little over a year to do this.

Without any further ado:

1. Read 5 books (I rarely read)

2. Take 3 roadtrips with my friends

3.Work out at least 3 times a week for a month

4.Completely unplug for 24 hours

5. Bake a dessert entirely by myself

6. Make a meal by myself

7. Take my grandparents out to eat

8. See a MLB and NFL game

9. Go paddle boarding one morning

10. Visit 2 new states (1. Colorado-June 2016)

11. Go 1 week without eating out

12. Get another piercing (Second hole- July 19th, 2016)

13. Wake up at 7 AM for two weeks

14. Write blog posts 7 days straight

15. Go to 4 different concerts (1. Of Monsters and Men- June 2016, 2. The Lumineers- September 15, 2016, 3. Watsky- September 16, 2016, 4. Chance the Rapper- June 2017)

16. Make my bed every morning for two weeks

17. Clean up the kitchen for mom after dinner

18. Spend an entire day hanging out with my sister

19. Visit a state/national park (Garden of the Gods- June 2016)

20. Get a professional massage (I've always wanted one!)

Do you have a 1001 in 101 list or 20 before 20 list? What's on yours?

SUMMER

Wow! Another school year has come and gone. I have managed to keep my 4.0 (#blessed). Although, I may have lost a bit of sanity in the process, but its over! I can't say I've learned any major lessons this year or "found myself" this year. I would definitely call this year a transition phase... and it will still likely go into next year. (Read: I feel like all of my posts are about school. I'm sorry!)

I began this school year very, very lonely. In September, I knew I would definitely transfer in the spring semester. Some things changed here and there. I became adjusted to what life had brought and decided to just go with it. So after reading Dorothy's post on the lessons she has learned this school year, I thought I would share what I learned to appreciate this year! Community college may not be the "college experience" I had been dreaming of, but I have discovered reasons why God wanted me to stay:

Selling our house: My mom put our house on the market at the beginning of the school year. We really weren't sure of how long it would take. My mom knew she wanted to downsize especially since I am going to be leaving soon. I have mixed feelings about moving. It will be good to have a fresh start. Moving just takes a lot of work. It will be worth it.

Family: I don't think I've ever been so close with my family members. My sister and I really do not get along... we're seven years apart! But we have had more bonding moments than before. My dad and I have started bonding more as well. My mom is probably my best friend, so I feel that our relationship has just grown stronger.

Lead Marshal: I was a Marshal at my college's graduation. When I went to practice they told me I was going to be the lead marshal because I met the requirements. I had always wanted to be one in high school, but I went to school with some outstanding people. I actually felt like my work had paid off. I was very nervous. I know it will help me stand out when applying to universities in the fall!

I'm very excited to hopefully be moving and trying to relax this summer and process all that's happened this year!

What do you think you have learned this school year??
